65th Anniversary Cupcake tower
Wow! 65 years of marriage! I made this for a colleague's parents who were celebrating their 65th Anniversary. I can't even imagine!
I learned how to make a cupcake wrapper for the giant cupcake out of chocolate. Quite pleased with how nice it turned out!

Another Canucks cake!
Funny how the Canucks aren't even playing right now and this is my second Canucks cake in the last two months!
Ruffle cake
I made this cake for a cute little girl who likes ruffles and teal. The ruffles on the bottom layer are made with buttercream.

Vintage Wedding Cake
Here's my first traditional tiered wedding cake. I did it for a vintage themed wedding. Have to say I'm pretty happy with how it turned out (after about 15 hours of working on it this week!)

Card Suit cake
I made this cake for a friend of our family. Let me just say, it is IMPOSSIBLE to find mini card suit cutters!! I searched everywhere. I ended up buying the regular cookie cutter size and using my freehand cutting skills to make the little ones. You will also notice how precise my lettering is!! (I LOVE my new Cricut Cake machine. It is going to make cake decorating that much more fun!)
Everything is made out of gumpaste. The cake itself was french vanilla cake with vanilla pudding, peaches and cinnamon streusel crunch with a vanilla buttercream.

Blue & Orange Engagement Cake
I made this one for a friend's friends who chose blue and orange for their wedding colours. Top layer was coconut cake with cream cheese frosting and the bottom layer was chocolate cake with alternating layers of raspberry filling and chocolate ganache, with raspberry buttercream, all covered in marshmallow fondant.

Monique and Jeff's Cake Pop Wedding Cake
This was a VERY exciting cake for me! I had promised my friend Monique over a year ago that I'd make her cake, LONG before I really got into this. So, really, she's the reason why I got into cakes. I made her and her fiance cake pops one day, and he loved them, so the idea of having a cake pop wedding cake was thought up.
Ta-da!! What a crazy cake! But I think it turned out pretty awesome! The bottom 3 tiers were styrofoam dummies covered in fondant. I drilled holes in the middle 2 for the cake pops (the husband's drill got totally caked up with fondant, oops!)
I dreamed this up a few days before so people would know which kind was which!
The cake on top was real, for the cake cutting.
Monique and I :)
Beautiful Monique and her handsome hubby.

Nautical themed cake
I made this cake for a friend of a friend who is moving to the eastern side of Canada...thought it would be fitting! Bottom layer is gluten-free chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and the top layer is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. As always, all decorations are edible!

Wedding Dress Cake
I did this one for a friend of mine for her wedding shower - I told her about a year ago that I would make her wedding cake and had never done a fondant cake before...so, she is basically the reason I started doing cakes! Her wedding is in August and I will be doing a CAKE POP wedding cake for it!!

Strawberry Macarons: new addition to my repertoire!
The more blogs I read, the more I see people making macarons. They look so pretty and delicate that I just HAD to try. Not as easy as one might think. I probably watched about 10 different tutorials, all with different information. Finally I found one that worked, but you MUST pay great attention to detail!! Anyways, I think my second attempt turned out pretty well!
